Philip Egberts & David Maier
Giving credit to their amazing wedding planner, these two grooms had a perfect day. Their planning advice? “Everything gets better with a glass of Champagne.”
Favourite moments: Aside from taking some quiet time and getting a haircut together, Philip says the best moment was walking from the ferry boat to get married. “Everyone from the club house was staring at David and I, which was slightly unsettling, but when I turned around the corner and saw all of our friends and family, it made me feel so happy.”
What a cake: This jet-setting couple chose a cake that included some luxe luggage, the suitcase from Joe vs. the Volcano, Air Canada Elite tags and stickers from cities they had been to together. A fun surprise came during the cake cutting where the couple cut the cake to reveal rainbow layers!
Take the flowers: “My one regret is that I didn’t mention to people to take the centrepieces! But the limo smelled wonderful on the drive home,” says Philip.
In memory: David’s late father loved the colour purple and orchids, so these elements were chosen to honour him and were seen throughout the event.
